Interestingly, it is also present in small amounts in the semen. Also quite easy to synthesize (I wouldn’t recommend it!)

How could you leave off vanillin? I may or may not have went out of my way to use it as a TLC stain in grad school when just about any other stain would have worked just fine. By far my favorite scent. Soooo good :)
